As part of the National Development Plan, there will be enhancements to the broadband infrastructure between the Border, Midlands, West Region and the South and East Regions.

The Midlands Broadband Project centres on the construction of an advanced network throughout Athlone, Mullingar, Portlaoise, Roscommon and Tullamore.

The completion of the project will mark a major advance in telecommunications infrastructure for the Midlands Region.
